Adult Dog Vaccination List

Rabies $10.00

Rabies vaccinations are required YEARLY in the City of Temple.
Rabies is a fatal virus that affects the dog’s brain and its central nervous system (CNS). The primary way the rabies
virus is contracted by dogs in the US is through a bite from a disease carrier: foxes, raccoons, skunks, etc.

Rabies/DA2PP+Lepto (Parvo, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Adenovirus Type-2, Leptospirosis) $38.00

Canine Parvo virus is a very contagious, debilitating and widespread disease caused by a virus spread through
infected feces. The highly resistant virus can remain in the environment for many months. Symptoms include
high fever, lethargy, vomiting and diarrhea. Vaccinating is the only certain method of preventing this potentially
fatal disease, which is most serious in young pups and elderly dogs.
Canine Distemper is an often fatal, hard to treat and highly contagious disease. It is spread by discharges from
the noses and eyes of infected dogs. Symptoms can include lethargy, fever, coughing, diarrhea and vomiting;
convulsions and paralysis may occur in the disease’s final stages. The distemper virus attacks many organs,
including the nervous system, which can be permanently damaged, even if the dog recovers.

Bordetella is a very highly contagious respiratory disease among dogs. Symptoms are inflammation of the trachea
and bronchi. This disease is found throughout the world and is known to infect a very high percentage of dogs
at least once during their lifetime. In severe cases symptoms can progress into pneumonia, fever, lethargy
or even death.

Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease that affects both humans and animals. It is spread through the urine of infected
animals mainly wildlife and domestic. It can get into water or soil and can survive for weeks to months.
Without treatment, Lepto can lead to kidney damage, liver failure, respiratory distress and can be fatal.

Heartworm Test $25.00

Canine Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease that is becoming more common. Heartworms
are treatable and preventable. Heartworms live in the arteries of a dog’s lungs and heart, and the blood vessels
that surround both. The infected worms are transmitted from mosquito to dog after the mosquito has picked up
the parasite from an infected dog.

Parasites can cause clinical signs such as diarrhea, vomiting and weight loss.

Rattlesnake Vaccination $29.00

Dogs are over 300 times more likely to be bitten by a venomous snake than to get rabies. Snake bites can kill or
injure dogs, destroy skin and muscle, and can cause permanent liver, kidney, heart, neurological and joint damage.

Rhinotracheitis is a horrible upper respiratory infection that is airborne and highly contagious among cats. It
causes sneezing and coughing with discharge from the eyes and nose, also infected cats will have loss of appetite
and fever.
Calicivirus is another upper respiratory infection with symptoms similar to feline viral Rhinotracheitis. These
infections account for 95% of upper respiratory infections in cats.
